Visit to the Zoo

On Saturday we went to Waco for our friend Drew Carpenter’s second birthday party. Luke had a lot of fun and pretty much took over the train table. Later that day, after a short nap in the car, we went with the McAnelly’s—William, Cristi, Brody, and William’s Mom, Liz—to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. It was a lot of fun! I was really impressed with the zoo. It was really stroller friendly and the exhibits seemed to be easily seen by someone Luke’s size. At the San Antonio Zoo, I felt like a lot of the things were too hard for him to see. Luke’s favorite thing BY FAR was the aquarium where they had a fish that looked just like Nemo and one that looked just like Dory. We saw that pretty early on in our visit and the entire rest of the visit he was begging to go see Nemo again. We’ll have to make another visit to the zoo and spend a lot of time visiting Nemo! Here are a few pictures:

Saying goodbye to William

Luke LOVES William and made sure William was nearby at all times. He was pretty distressed when William had to drive his own family to the zoo but we reassured Luke that we would soon be reunited with William.

We met Luke’s new Mother’s Day Out teacher today. She seemed very sweet and we are so excited. There are only 8 kids in the class total—4 girls and 4 boys. Luke is the oldest by about 5 days. He is the only Luke this time and we are excited about that. Last year, he was one of two Lukes and had to go by “Luke J.” School starts on Tuesday and we can’t wait!

that zoo looks like fun.

hooray for being the only Luke. I despise tacking a last initial onto a kid's name.
... hence why i had the other lily in lily's class 'taken care of.' jk
