Our house is on the market! Hooray! The day has finally come. We have worked our tails off getting it ready. Here is a list of what we've done:
- Had new carpet put in Luke and Ethan's bedrooms and the hallway
- Had the rest of our carpet cleaned
- Had 7 cracked tiles replaced (because of "seasonal movement" in our foundation)
- Replaced our front door handle and lock
- Filled a 10x10 storage unit of furniture and other stuff that we can apparently live without
- Put new mulch out and planted flowers
- Touched up paint and caulking
- Cleaned. And Cleaned. And cleaned some more.
That's all I can think of for now but it has been quite a process and we are glad to finally be at this point. We are so, so thankful for both sets of grandparents who helped us tremendously while we were getting the house ready.
We even had our first showing this evening! It was so exciting. Thankfully we had left the house ready--just in case--while we went out to an early dinner. But when the realtor called we still decided Mark should go home real quick and make sure all the lamps were on. We're going to have to write up a checklist or something.
This is the part of the process where we just have to have faith that the right buyer will come at the right time. Of course we are very optimistic and hoping it sells quickly. Our realtor had a professional photographer come and take pictures of the house and do a virtual tour. They turned out really great. We aren't posting the link because it has our address and we're not sure if any crazy people read this blog. :) Here are a few pictures I copied from the website though:

P.S. I really hate using blogger because my pictures never go where I want them to and I will seriously miss Windows Live Writer while our desktop computer is in storage. So if it seems like my pictures are weirdly placed for a while you'll know why.
