Well, I thought I would go ahead and write an update. I'm not sure if anyone still checks our blog. We are almost finished decorating the nursery. I think it turned out really cute! I will post some pictures as soon as it is completely done. We are waiting for some painted letters to spell his name that we ordered from ebay.
I went to the doctor on Wednesday. According to my due date, I am about 31 weeks pregnant. Well, I was measuring at 35 weeks. So the nurse practitioner decided to go ahead and do an ultrasound to make sure everything was okay. She said she wanted to make sure there wasn't too much amniotic fluid. So they did the ultrasound and according to all the measurements they did, he already weighs about 4 lbs. 5 oz!!! The ultrasound technician said according to his measurements it approximated a due date of September 4 instead of September 20. I asked the nurse practitioner and she said they do not change my due date from the original one but that doesn't mean he won't come earlier than September 20. So, either I am farther along in the pregnancy than we thought or I may have a giant baby! We'll see....

Soul Patrol
I admit it. I watched every episode of "American Idol" this year. For me, the highlight from last night's season finale--besides Taylor Hicks winning--was the Mary J. Blige and Elliott Yamin performance of U2's "One."

May 10 Can't Get Here Soon Enough....
I went in for my monthly checkup yesterday. Actually, my original appointment was last Thursday, which had to be rescheduled by my doctor, and was moved to Monday. Mark and I went in on Monday and they informed me that Dr. Pevoto was gone due to an emergency C-Section so they rescheduled me for yesterday (Wednesday). I called before I left school, to make sure he was there and they said he was there....and what do you know...when we got there, they called me in and said Dr. Pevoto was leaving for a C-Section and I would need to be rescheduled or see the nurse practitioner. So, we opted for seeing the nurse practitioner. We got to hear the heartbeat and she measured me and said everything looked/sounded great. But the best part is that we got to schedule the 20 week ultrasound. So, the big day is May 10 at 8:30 a.m.!!! Hopefully the baby will cooperate and we'll finally find out what we're having!! I can't wait.

Second Trimester
Wow! I can't believe I am 16 weeks pregnant. I think I am finally starting to show!! I think I am carrying "high" because the top part of my stomach is starting to poke out. My mom said she carried high so maybe that's what I am doing as well. I don't know if a totally random person would know I am pregnant. But people at school say I am showing and said there is a big difference between last week and this week. I am wearing maternity clothes. Plus, my mom says I am definitely showing and I always take my mom's word. So far, the second trimester has been much better. Thank goodness! I only threw up once last week and that was because I smelled a really gross smell. So, I am even more sensitive to smells than before I was pregnant. I feel more energetic too. I still go to bed as early as possible but I definitely feel more energy in the afternoons.I am reading a book called Baby Bargains. It is pretty informative. It rates cribs, and tons of other baby stuff. This whole nursery furniture thing is overwhelming to me. I want good stuff but I don't want to spend a fortune. It just seems like a really big decision.
I cannot wait to know the sex of our child!!! The anticipation is excruciating to me!!! Anyone that knows me, knows I am not the most patient person in the world, so waiting until May seems like TORTURE!!! According to the Chinese Lunar Calendar (and who could doubt the Chinese Lunar Calendar) we are having a boy. So......I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Mark is outside painting a cradle we got from a friend at school. So, that's one less thing we'll have to buy.... (Sunday night update: Here is the cradle--all painted and assembled).
I am excited because I get to see Sarah and Amber today!! I haven't seen Sarah in forever and I haven't seen Amber in several months.
